K – 6th grade

All the traditional day camp activities – PLUS an hour a day with a certified Horse Powered Reading® (HPR) facilitator. Whether your child loves to read, struggles to read, or just wants to do fun reading activities with miniature horses, this day camp offers a unique and exciting experience. Day campers will enjoy activities such as crafts, swimming, hiking, creekin’, group games, painting a pony, and taking a short pony ride. We will provide lunch and a snack. Campers will be encouraged to leave a backpack with swim suit, towel, jeans, change of clothes including shoes and 2 pairs of socks, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and hat - because all of our activities are weather-dependent and may change!

Drop off: 7:30—8:00 am.

Pick up: 4:30—5:00 pm.

Join our most popular camp designed for horse enthusiasts and beginner riders! Participants will learn essential skills in groundwork, riding, and horse care. Throughout the week, campers will build their confidence by bonding with their horse and learnings to stop, steer, and balance. Campers often repeat Riders 1 to establish a strong foundation before exploring more challenging trails or riding more advanced horses.

This is for campers who have been to Riders 1, are taking lessons, or have their own horse. You will learn basic horse anatomy with our certified horse massage therapist, the basics of horse healthcare, become more proficient at saddling, enjoy longer trail rides, and play fun walk and trot games in the arena!

Riders 3 is for horse enthusiasts who are comfortable grooming, saddling, and trotting. Campers will play more advanced games in the arena, perhaps ride bareback or English, perhaps try cantering, and - of course - enjoy long trail rides through our beautiful woods!

Interested in horses, but not ready for a whole week of camp? This camp is for you! You will do all the traditional camp activities, learn basic riding skills in the arena, and perhaps get out on our trails!

Brand new this year - enjoy all the daytime fun of classic Jensen Woods camp activities, then rest comfortably in our beautiful indoor bunkhouse at night! With twin bunk beds, air conditioning, and full bathrooms, it’s camp with a touch of glamping luxury!

Stay up late; get up late. Activities will likely include: night hikes, flashlight tag, stargazing, talking with owls, late night snacks, breakfast at midnight, and (of course) the traditional camp fun. Night Owl is for those who love to stay up late and enjoy quality time with great new friends.

Our first camp of the season - for teens with a desire to grow in their faith and leadership skills. The focus will be on expanding skills so you can guide others in their faith walk. We'll spend the week doing team building and all the traditional camp activities while learning valuable life skills such as communication and leadership. Exceptional leaders will be invited back as counselors-in-training (CITs) to help with another week of camp.

Leadership campers who wish to grow their equine leadership skills while learning how to teach others about horsemanship, saddling, and more advanced riding. Must have prior horse experience: know how to groom, saddle, and ride. Exceptional leaders will be invited back as wranglers-in-training (WITs) to help with another week of camp!

Our mountain bike campers get to explore Jensen Woods on wheels! Enjoy all the traditional camp activities while riding bikes through the trails!

This is for adventure-loving campers! Depending on the group’s interests, campers may build a slip ‘n’ slide, enjoy water games, learn knot-tying, carve a fish spear, make survival bracelets, shoot a bow and arrow, make a shelter to sleep in the woods, fish, try cleaning and cooking your catch, and more!
